The program primarily serves Campbell County, however, residents of Kenton, Boone, Grant, Pendleton, Carroll, Owen, and Gallatin Counties are also assisted. The Family Support Program offers the following types of assistance: food, clothing, rent, deposit, housing searches, tenant/landlord rights, transportation, cleaning supplies, utilities, prescriptions, household items, personal items, diapers, furniture, baby items, USDA commodities, SHARE, and referrals to other agencies.
YOUTH SERVICES: Youth services promote positive youth development and provide an array of services for at-risk youth and their families. The Williamstown Head Start/Preschool Program provides educational services for children 3 and 4 years of age and residing in Grant County. The federally funded Head Start program serves families meeting income poverty guidelines. Income eligible four year old children and children identified with a qualifying disability/delay are served first, with income eligible three year old children being places as space becomes available. Other eligibility considerations include that are in foster care, families receiving SSI and families receiving KTAP/certain childcare subsidy. The state funded Preschool income guidelines are the same as those of the Federal Free Lunch Program. The eligibility requirements for each program vary. Williamstown Head Start has five centers that are housed in each elementary school located in the Grant county and Williamstown School Districts. Students are placed in classrooms according to residence and district boundaries. Students are in class Monday-Thursday for 3.5 hours a day. Our curriculum addresses the needs of the whole child: Social-Emotional, Intellectual, Physical, Language, and Health. All students receive lunch during their time at school and transportation services are provided to most areas. The office is located behind the Williamstown Independent School Campus. |
