Our Native Snakes
Most of the snakes in the Lake Williamstown region are non-venomous species.
| Venomous |

| There is only one venomous snake that is native to our Northern Kentucky region. Copperhead (venomous) is a pit-viper. A group of snakes named for the pit located between the eye and nose. And all venomous snakes have verital pupils. And there have been no reported sightings at Lake Williamstown but they are common in Kentucky. They will strike if they feel threatened. Bite is very painful but not fatal. Seek medical attention if struck to prevent infection. |
